The stress always falls on the penultimate (second-to-last) syllable: NA-dhrau.

Vowels



a            as in taut. (Mari, Arath)
o            long—says its name.
u            sound like too.
            as in kit (Lanadris) except when the emphasized syllable in which case sounds like flee (Lia).
e            as in net. (Thanlen)


Dipthongs


ae          sounds like eye. (Owaen, Faeran)
au          sounds like ow. (Nadhrau)
ue          as in web.



All other consonants are pronounced as in English—but note that as Nadhrau does not contain English letters C, J, K, Q, S, X, Y, or Z. (What’s left? Still two-thirds of the alphabet plus extra sounds!) Thus, if you come across a word containing one of these consonants or some other sound not given above, it’s probably Shaltakh.
